December Ultrasound

Today I had my first OB appointment on base. I was excited to hear that they would be doing another ultrasound. This ultrasound was MUCH better than the first one that I had. The doctor said that everything looked great and that my due date is July 12th, which means I am 10 1/2 weeks. I am almost through the first trimester! The best part of the ultrasound was hearing the heartbeat. It was amazing. He said it was beating at a healthy 170 BPM. I was also amazed to see little arms and feet and the doctor even got the baby to move around a little bit. It was a relief to know that the baby was healthy and doing well. My next appointment is on January 22nd, which will be my 15 week appointment. That will be my last appointment on EGLIN AFB before I move to Tampa. I hope that my move to Tampa will be a smooth transition into another good OB clinic. I should be able to find out the sex of the baby at 20 weeks.

I saw a baby and heartbeat!!

After two weeks of waiting and wondering I finally had my 2nd ultrasound today. I was so pleased to see a healthy baby and heartbeat. Dr. Dress said everything looks fine. She said I am probably a little earlier than I thought. She said probably around 7 weeks, rather than 8 weeks. She calculated my due date to be July 23rd, rather than July 12th that I had calculated. I did not get a picture though. I think it is because she is just GYN, not OB, so she doesn't have the best ultrasound equipment. She referred me on base now, so I have to go to the OB on base to make my next appointments. Hopefully I will get a picture next time. I am feeling pretty good though. I am very tired and still making trips to the bathroom at night. I am also nauseous a lot, but not sure if that is the baby or just my nerves.

Still Too Early To Tell

I just got back from my first ultrasound. I thought I was right at six weeks, but she said I might be a bit earlier than that. She could only see the yolk sac, but no fetus with heartbeat yet. I go back on December 1st for another ultrasound, hopefully the little bugger will show up then. She said i shouldn't be alarmed unless there is no change when I go back. I am going to try not to worry, but that probably won't happen.

Getting Ready for Ultrasound

On Tuesday, November 18th, at about 6 weeks along, I will have my first ultrasound to make sure everything is going along ok. I am a bit nervous saddened about going by myself. On the other hand I am trying to stay postive about taking on this life-long adventure on my own. It is going to be a thrilling rollercoaster ride of emotions.

On different websites that I have checked, they say that I am anywhere between 5 1/2 and 6 1/2 weeks pregnant. I am curious to see what the ultrasound shows and what Dr. Dress thinks. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will see that flickering heart beat, but know that it might be a tad to early for that. Most importantly I just want to comfirm that everything looks ok.

A Grateful Mom to Be

After doing all of the math over and over again. I figured out that my due date is July 12th. I am 5 weeks and 1 day pregnant. How exciting...a July baby. After all of my doubts and fears about conceiving, I am very grateful to be expecting this bundle of joy in July. I have my first ultrasound on November 18th.

On Monday I had 2 interviews in Tampa, which went really well. I also looked at a few apartments. I can't wait to set up a happy home in Tampa for my new little family.

How am I feeling so far? So far I feel great! I am a bit more tired and seem to be traveling to bathroom much more, especially in the middle of the night. So far, So good!!

Is that a line or am I seeing things?

On November 1st at 3am I took a pregnancy test. As I sat their staring at it, I expected to see nothing, just like each of the last 10 months. Then somthing VERY faint started to appear. Is that a line? Maybe it is too early in the morning and I am imagining things. I woke my cousin, Christina up to help me make my mind up. She said for sure something was there, but it sure was faint. So needless to say I had some trouble getting back to bed. Later that eveing I took another test, and sure enough, another faint line. After a restless night I called Dr. Dress in the morning. She got me right in and confirmed my pregnancy with another urine test. She also called in a blood lab to confirm. At the end of the day Monday it was official! I am going to be a mom!
