My favorite part of the nursery! love it!

The nursery is almost finished. I still need to get a small nightstand and another lamp. I would also like to get a glider/rocker before Olivia gets here.

Finally an Update!! 28 Weeks

Wow! I haven't posted since December? Yikes!! Well a lot has happened since then. I moved back near Tampa, a town called Brandon. I have an apartment and am starting to finally get settled. I just got internet today!! Yeah!! Let's see...where should I start? When I first got down here I stayed at Tom and Christina's house for a couple months so that I could save up for an apartment. I moved into my apartment on March 11th. In February I started a temporary 1st grade teaching position that lasted through April 4th. Since then I have been "stalking" principals about positions for the spring and for next fall. I have spoken to a couple who seem interested in hiring me for fall, but right now that is a waiting game. As for spring, there is only about 6 weeks left of school, so I am going to try to sub and volunteer at the schools I am interested in.

On March 7th, Tania, Tricia, Dana, and Keri gave me a beautiful baby shower in Crestview. The food was yummy, the games were fun, and the gifts were generous. I received many neccesities that Olivia and I will be using shortly. I had a ton of fun!! I would post a picture.......but someone accidently deleted them....ha ha....I won't tell!!

On April 11th I had a small shower here, given by my mom, Chip, and Christina. It was a long distance shower, so many of my family sent gifts that I opened. My friends Stacy and Shannon were at the shower also. The first thing we did was go to a Pottery store and everyone picked out something to make for Olivia. I make her a piggy bank!! Then we had lunch together and went back to Christina's house for games, cupcakes, and gifts. I had a wonderful time.

Today I am 28 weeks pregnant and feeling pretty good. I am starting to feel uncomfortable at night and my feet and legs are starting to swell. Olivia is moving around a lot! Last Saturday I had a 4D ultrasound. My mom, Chip, and Christina came with me. It was great seeing her and getting a sneak peak at what she will look like. This weekend I am going to put together Olivia's Crib and Changing Table (with help of course)!! I will post pictures as her nursery gets put together.

December Ultrasound

Today I had my first OB appointment on base. I was excited to hear that they would be doing another ultrasound. This ultrasound was MUCH better than the first one that I had. The doctor said that everything looked great and that my due date is July 12th, which means I am 10 1/2 weeks. I am almost through the first trimester! The best part of the ultrasound was hearing the heartbeat. It was amazing. He said it was beating at a healthy 170 BPM. I was also amazed to see little arms and feet and the doctor even got the baby to move around a little bit. It was a relief to know that the baby was healthy and doing well. My next appointment is on January 22nd, which will be my 15 week appointment. That will be my last appointment on EGLIN AFB before I move to Tampa. I hope that my move to Tampa will be a smooth transition into another good OB clinic. I should be able to find out the sex of the baby at 20 weeks.

I saw a baby and heartbeat!!

After two weeks of waiting and wondering I finally had my 2nd ultrasound today. I was so pleased to see a healthy baby and heartbeat. Dr. Dress said everything looks fine. She said I am probably a little earlier than I thought. She said probably around 7 weeks, rather than 8 weeks. She calculated my due date to be July 23rd, rather than July 12th that I had calculated. I did not get a picture though. I think it is because she is just GYN, not OB, so she doesn't have the best ultrasound equipment. She referred me on base now, so I have to go to the OB on base to make my next appointments. Hopefully I will get a picture next time. I am feeling pretty good though. I am very tired and still making trips to the bathroom at night. I am also nauseous a lot, but not sure if that is the baby or just my nerves.

Still Too Early To Tell

I just got back from my first ultrasound. I thought I was right at six weeks, but she said I might be a bit earlier than that. She could only see the yolk sac, but no fetus with heartbeat yet. I go back on December 1st for another ultrasound, hopefully the little bugger will show up then. She said i shouldn't be alarmed unless there is no change when I go back. I am going to try not to worry, but that probably won't happen.

Getting Ready for Ultrasound

On Tuesday, November 18th, at about 6 weeks along, I will have my first ultrasound to make sure everything is going along ok. I am a bit nervous saddened about going by myself. On the other hand I am trying to stay postive about taking on this life-long adventure on my own. It is going to be a thrilling rollercoaster ride of emotions.

On different websites that I have checked, they say that I am anywhere between 5 1/2 and 6 1/2 weeks pregnant. I am curious to see what the ultrasound shows and what Dr. Dress thinks. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will see that flickering heart beat, but know that it might be a tad to early for that. Most importantly I just want to comfirm that everything looks ok.
